ALBANY, Ore. — Hundreds travel from around the Pacific Northwest every year to watch hot air ballons take off at the ATI Northwest Art and Air Festival in Albany, and early Friday morning the first balloon was launched.
The fesitval takes place at Timber Linn Memorial Park, where 31 hot air balloons total will take off into the sky. Friday, 119 riders were scheduled to go up in the balloons.
The weekend also includes live music, a car show and crafts and activities for kids. Saturday night, rock band Foreigner will play a show. The event is free to the public.
