Chief Meteorologist Justin Stapleton‘s Tuesday Night Forecast Discussion:
Second hottest day of the year so far today as Eugene got to 96! Roseburg also touched 96, while Corvallis hit just under the century mark at 99! It’ll stay very mild to start the evening, but overnight, we’ll be under clear skies but still mild with lows approaching the mid to low 50s.
Wednesday will be hot again as the ridge of high pressure is still the driving force for most of the Pacific Northwest. Expect highs to climb back into the low 90s with the exception of the coast, where morning clouds should give way to some afternoon sun and mid 60s. For the next couple of days, that’s the best location to beat the heat.
Turning towards the weekend, a low pressure center will SLOWLY start to drop in from the Gulf of Alaska bringing back morning clouds for valley residents and chop highs back into the mid to upper 80s. With the start of the Lane County Fair this week, slightly cooler days will be here for the weekend rush at the fairgrounds. Still dry and no rain for the foreseeable future as we’re adding to what is the driest start on record for the year and the 5th overall driest summer in Eugene!
Have a great Wednesday!
