Hot Weather Prompts Fire Ban

ROSEBURG, Ore. — The recent hot weather has increased the fire danger and the Douglas County Forest Protective Association is limiting the use of flammable materials in the area.

Starting at 12 a.m. on Wednesday, July 3, smoking and the use of fireworks will be prohibited in wildland areas. Campfires and charcoal fires will be restricted to designated campgrounds only.

The ban is effective on all private, county, state and Bureau of Land Management lands in Douglas County.
