METEOROLOGIST MARISA WOLOSZYN’S FORECAST DISCUSSION:
Wednesday was the last cloudy and wet day for awhile.
Thursday will begin with some areas of fog, also could see some light sprinkles in the morning along the north coast and valley. By the afternoon high pressure will build in, clear out our skies and bring warmer air across the area. High temps will be in the upper 60s along the coast and low to mid 80s inland.
The high pressure will remain in place through the weekend and into next week as an Omega Block develops.
An Omega Block, is what it sounds like, a high pressure in between two low pressures giving the shape of the Greek letter omega. The high pressure essentially blocks the movement of the lows and keeps dry and warm weather in an area for a week.
Friday through Wednesday will be mostly sunny with high temperatures in the low 70s along the coast, upper 80s near 90 in the valley and foothills, and low to mid 90s in the Umpqua.
Have a terrific Thursday!
