Howard Students Take Selfie

Howard selfieEUGENE, Ore. — Selfies–they’re all the rage these days, and some kids in Eugene got in on the action in a big way Friday.

At Eugene’s Howard Elementary School, students and staff gathered to take a whole-school selfie photo.

It was also a chance to show off their school pride by wearing T-shirts with their new retro Howard Roadrunners logo.

The principal, who actually went to Howard back in the 1970s, cam up with the idea for the shirts.

“This was the T-shirt design when I was here. I ran it by everyone to make sure, you know, that nostalgia didn’t throw away to good taste,” said Allan Chinn, principal of Howard Elementary School.

The new T-shirts were funded by a grant from the Eugene Education Foundation.
