HP Laying Off Another 2,000 Workers

(CNN) — Computer giant Hewlett-Packard is laying off another 2,000 workers. That’s in addition to the 27,000 jobs being eliminated by the end of the 2014 fiscal year.

Back in May, HP unveiled a restructuring plan that reduced the company’s workforce by 8 percent. Some were through layoffs and others through retirement.

The company has struggled to compete in the mobile world with industry-leader Apple and is now trying to reposition itself as more of a software and services company.

This year alone, the company’s stock has dropped more than 30 percent.
