Human Remains Found in House Fire

JUNCTION CITY, Ore. — The Junction City fire chief says human remains were found in the rubble of a fire that destroyed a house last Friday.

Fire Chief Carl Perry says the body was burned so badly, they can’t determine if it’s Judy Perdue, who lived in the home. So, the medical examiner is now trying to make a positive ID.

“We discovered human remains and it was in the kitchen portion of the house near an exit of the house, it looked like the back door going out to the carport she was in that area of the house,” Perry said.

Perry says the victim appeared to be a hoarder, and that may be part of the reason the fire burned so hot.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
