Hundreds of Kids Receive School Supplies

springfield high school suppliesSPRINGFIELD, Ore. — Hundreds of kids in Springfield are receiving a helping hand as they get ready to head back to school.

The Project Hope Kids Fair set up four locations today throughout Eugene and Springfield to give out school supplies and new shoes to kids chosen by the school board.

Organizers at the Springfield High School location say they are estimating about 750 kids will receive items and they hope this gets them feeling good about going back to school.

“We need this because we know and we understand how many kids are out there that come into school with maybe a couple of pencils in their pocket and that’s it,” said Patrick Burke, a quadrant leader.

The other locations were at North Eugene and Willamette High School, as well as Caesar Chavez Elementary.
