UPDATE: Highway 126W Re-opened

UPDATE (12:30 p.m.): ODOT has re-opened the highway.

VENETA, Ore. – Highway 126W, three miles east of Veneta is closed. At least one person was killed in a crash involving a semi and a passenger vehicle.

The highway is expected to be closed for several hours. A detour is being established.

We have a crew on the scene and will bring you more information as it becomes available.

    Funny how they (the county or state) just looked at this HWY again a couple of months ago and determined it would cost to much money to do the right thing and fix it by widening it and adding two lanes. They chose the cheap option apparently. They were aware of the accidents and deaths per year that happen here. Thanks so much for spending time and money to find it is just to much money to save lives and make safer road for all.
