EUGENE, Ore. — Clear Lake Road near Highway 99 is open after a crash between a motorcycle and car closed it down for hours Saturday.
Lane Fire Authority responded to the crash around 11 a.m. Officials say the motorcycle rear-ended a car then slid over three lanes. It then hit a gas line and caused a leak.
Northwest Natural Gas was also on scene to help with the gas line, while crews provided assistance.
“The motorcycle was leaking fuel as well, so we’re just trying to mitigate that hazardous material scene my minimizing movement and providing protection while Northwest Natural secures the leak,” says Chris Heppel with Lane Fire Authority.
No one was hurt in the crash and both drivers denied medical assistance.
