SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — It’s National Pancake Day at IHOP, where all its restaurants around the nation hope to rake in $3 million and raise awareness for the Children’s Miracle Network and other local charities.
The event is in its eigth year. So far it’s raised more than $10 million for the cause. Last year IHOP served four million free pancakes–that amounts to a 16 mile high stack of free pancakes. Preparations were under way locally. Staff will be bustling from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Tuesday giving away those free buttermilk shortstacks in hopes of getting loads of donations for the Childrens Miracle Network.
