EUGENE, Ore. — The Lane County Fair is right around the corner, and amazing things are already happening on the ground, including flying cows.
On Thursday, the fair erected its giant inflatable cow, named Betty Sue Moo, on the roof of the ice arena. Betty Sue and her partner, an inflatable pig named Chris P. Bacon, are considered by many to be the faces of the fair.
“People really love anything that can sort of considered a mascot,” says marketing director Rachel Bivens, “so we have some furry critters that run around here now we have our giant animals, and once people see them . . . they seem to get really excited about it.”
Bivens says Chris and Betty Sue will watch over the fairgrounds, and visitors can take pictures with them throughout the event.
