ALBANY, Ore. — The lawyer for the teen accused of plotting to bomb his West Albany High School is seeking an insanity defense.
A hearing was scheduled in Benton County Tuesday, but Acord was not present.
The Benton County Prosecutor says Acord’s attorney filed a motion to assert that he is not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect. Acord’s case is scheduled to go to trial in June.
He is facing charges of attempted murder, arson and unlawful use of a weapon after he allegedly hatched a plot to blow up the high school.
