Interview: New Food Pantry Opens

EUGENE, Ore. — More help is now available for local hungry families.

In 2010, Food for Lane County launched its first mobile food pantry as a way to get emergency food into underserved area. There are sites at Guy Lee Elementary, Hamlin Middle School, Culp Creek, and this weekend it’s opening its fourth site. The new mobile food pantry opens Saturday, Feb. 23 at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, located at 4110 River Road in Eugene, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Carrie Copeland, the mobile pantry coordinator at Food for Lane County, says there are signs the economy is turning around, but there is still a need for food assistance. She join us live on KEZI 9 News This Morning to share more about their organization and what help they need.
