video preview image

EUGENE, Ore. — A national effort is under way to make sure veterans are remembered during the holidays. It’s called Wreaths Across America.

Wreaths will be placed on graves at more the 800 locations nationwide.

Commander Roxanne Cole, of the Mahlon Sweet Composite Squadron, is leading the local effort along with Musgrove Family Mortuaries and Cemeteries.

There are a number of ways for volunteers to get involved, including placing the wreaths on the graves. Organizers also need cash donations to purchase the wreaths. Each wreath costs $15.

There is no cost to attend or participate in the events happening Dec. 14 at three local cemeteries.
