EUGENE, Ore. — When the Duck Football Team fares well, the team’s merchandise flies off store shelves.
The same is true for the basketball team.
So can the same be said for baseball?
The stands at PK Park are expected to be packed this Friday when Oregon takes on Austin Peay State University in their opening regional game.
We know fans will be decked out in green and yellow, but how much of that clothing will be baseball specific?
We checked in with The Duck Store to see how baseball merchandise sales compare to its counterparts–football and basketball.
Managers say while the team has been doing well for some time, sales haven’t picked up yet.
Based off what happened with softball merchandise, they predict baseball clothing will start flying off the shelves once they start winning regional match-ups.
“As they advance more, people will be more interested in buying stuff. Like for softball stuff, we never really had a lot, but now that we’re advancing, people all around the country are trying to buy softball stuff,” said store employee Nick Vicino.
Vicino says they sold a lot of stuff during the softball regional since Oregon hosted, and they’re anticipating the same trend with baseball holding its regional at PK Park.
