Jasper Mountain Documentary to Debut

EUGENE, Ore. — A local nonprofit is getting some international help sharing its message with the world.

After speaking in Australia, Jasper Mountain’s executive director was approached by filmmakers who wanted to document the organization’s work with abused children.

Three years later, the project is done. “Once Upon a Mountain” will make its debut Friday, Nov. 8 at the Eugene International Film Festival.

While a portion of ticket proceeds will go to Jasper Mountain, staff members say there’s an even better reason to show up.

“What I want them to do is come to this movie for the helpful message because all of us know kids that we just throw up our hands and say, ‘I don’t know if there’s something that’s going help this child,’ but there is help,” said David Ziegler, Jasper Mountain Executive Director.

The movie will play at Regal Cinemas at Valley River Center at 5 p.m.
