EUGENE, Ore. —¬†Good Guys closed its doors in August 2005, leaving the building off of Green Acres Road vacant. Now seven years later, Joann Fabrics and Crafts will move from its River Road location into the Delta Oaks Shopping Center.

Construction crews are busy revamping this 20,000-square-foot building. Joann Fabrics and Crafts is scheduled to move in the first week of November, with the store opening November 9.

The new site is larger than the River Road location by about 8,000 square feet. With the extra space, the store plans to offer more services and products, expand its selection of fabrics, and triple the size of their scrapbooking section.

Expansion also means hiring additional employees; the new location is expected to higher about 50 new employees to help open the store.

The River Road store location will close with the opening of the new store, but the Joann’s location in Springfield will remain open.
