EUGENE, Ore. — The Jordan Kent Skill Camp kicks off its spring break camp Monday.
Jordan Kent Skill Camps have brought out hundreds of children during the summer for three years, but this is the first spring break camp. It will take place at Cal Young Middle School.
When kids step on the field, they’ll get to interact with the athletes they look up to.
“You can teach a kid how to shoot a basketball or throw a football or kick a soccer ball, but if you don’t understand hard work, teamwork, learning how to embrace failure…not to be afraid, that’s where I think you really see growth in the child not only as an athlete but as a person. So we encourage every single kid, not to compare yourself to other people but try to be the best you can be,” says Jordan Kent.
Campers will choose between football, basketball, soccer and snag golf. They’ll learn a variety of agility drills, participate in games and get a lesson in nutrition.
The camp runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday, rain or shine. It’s open for boys and girls ages 6 to 12. You have until 8:30 a.m. Monday to register. Click here to sign up.
