Kesey is known for his books One Flew Over the Cukoo’s Nest and Sometimes a Great Notion.
The documentary has been in the works for about seven months. It’s part of the Oregon Public Broadcasting’s Oregon Experience series. It is making its debut Thursday night at the McDonald Theater in downtown Eugene.
It’s sold out though, with about 200 people on the waiting list for the show.
“We are in the heart of Ken Kesey country, Eugene Oregon, I would expect a little bit of interest in anything about him but I’m a little stunned at how many people are showing up for this. It’s great, it’s great, I love it,” said producer Eric Cain.
If you can’t make the screening, it will air on OPB on Monday, Jan. 20 at 9 p.m.
