EUGENE, Ore. — Just as spring break begins for most students, some are just wrapping up a spring fundraiser.
The Eugene Christian School completed its campaign with a Helping Hands Fight Hunger meal packing event.
Students helped produce 10,000 meals for Food for Lane County. Each spent ten minutes rotating through stations, weighing and measuring the food before packing it.
“We’re helping in our community packing a bunch of food for Food For Lane County, and it feels really good,” said eighth grader Chrissy Strickland.
Part of the mission of Eugene Christian is to encourage service to others, and this project helped raised awareness of hunger issues in our community.
