Kids Learn Safety Skills at Safety Town

EUGENE, Ore. — More than 140 pre-kindergartners will get the chance to learn about safety over the next two weeks.

The Safety Town child safety program starts Monday. Children will learn more than 20 safety topics throughout the two-week long camp.

Monday began with an opening ceremony, followed by the children getting the chance to learn about pedestrian and traffic safety. They got to meet a police officer, sit in a police car and on a police motorcycle.

The Safety Town child safety program runs from July 15 to July 26. There is both a morning and afternoon session. For more information and how to sign up for next year’s program, click here.
