Those kids, who are getting ready to enter kindergarten, got to spend some time in Safety Town.
There they got a hands-on lesson in everything from water safety to gun safety.
Organizers say that while these kids may seem young, it’s never too early to start learning about how to stay safe.
“It’s a huge transition time for children. They’re going to be starting to spend more and more time away from their parents, and so they’re going to be needing to make safety decisions and things that are decisions for their best well being,” said Sgt. Lisa Barrong, Eugene Police Department.
The Safety Town experience is made possible thanks to donations from sponsors in our community.
