Lack of Snow Puts Ski Season on Hold

EUGENE, Ore. — The lack of snow is making it tough for Hoodoo and Willamette Pass ski resorts to open.

There’s only about 10 inches of snow at the Hoodoo Ski Resort. To open, it needs between 24 and 36 inches. Resort officials say they hope to be open by Christmas.

“We’re keeping an eye on the weather every day. It’s looking like we’re going to get a little bit of snow not a whole lot for this week. We were hoping to open by Thursday. I don’t know if it’s going to bring enough for this weekend,” said Leif Williams, Hoodoo Vice President of Marketing.

Williams says a lot of people have already bought season passes. Now, they just need snow.
