EUGENE, Ore. — Michelle Wattier, the wife of Lane County sheriff’s deputy Drew Wattier, is awake and speaking Friday, according to the couple’s Facebook page. However, Drew is still not awake.
The couple were hit by a car last month while walking outside their Mexico resort.
There has been an outpour of support from the community.
This week, a fundraiser at Papa’s Pizza brought in more than $11,000 towards the Wattier Medical Fund.
