Lane County Farmers Market to Move

EUGENE, Ore. — After two years at Amazon Park on Thursdays, organizers of the Lane County Farmers Market say it’s time for a change.

Board members say the first year was great, but popularity and consequently sales were down last year.

Starting next week, they’re going to be setting up shop at the Fifth Street Public Market.

On Tuesday, vendors at the Park Blocks in downtown Eugene said they’re looking forward to the move.

“I’m excited about it. It seemed like Amazon was a good idea, but it just never took off. So hopefully Fifth Street will be enough of a shift that it’ll take off,” said vendor Jamina Shupack.

The feeling among customers is mixed, all depending on whether or not the new location was closer to home.
