Lane County Holds Public Health Fair

JRI HEALTH DEPARTMENT STORYEUGENE, Ore. — Lane County residents popped into the health department Friday to get some questions answered on a wide range of health topics.

It was all part of National Public Health Week, the Lane County Health Department held this health fair downtown.

There were booths with info on communicable disease. People could even get their immunizations. Residents were also able to learn about clinical services.

“Each of us knows we could be healthier in terms of what we eat and what we do more physical activity, and it would be nice if our community could help support that the way the community is designed, and public health cannot do that alone,” said Connie Sullivan, WIC Supervisor.

Women also checked out the WIC booth–it’s a nutrition program for pregnant women.

The health department says it’s important for women to know they can get these resources for free.
