EUGENE, Ore. — The Lane County NAACP celebrated another civil rights leader on a more local level Monday, Lilly Parker.
She was the first African-American born at Sacred Heart Hospital, and her family was one of the first African-American family to ever move to Eugene.
The NAACP honored Parker with the Martin Luther King Award.
Parker says she feels honored and humbled.
She received a standing ovation from the crowd for her profound words and service.
