Sheriff’s Office Starts New Program

LANE COUNTY, Ore. — The Lane County Sheriff’s Office is celebrating Crime Prevention Month with a brand new program. The department is now offering free home security and safety inspections. It says Lane County consistently has some of the highest property crime rates in the nation.

The program is run by trained volunteers and is designed to help homeowners protect themselves from becoming victims.

“A lot of the ideas and techniques they have are low cost or no cost ideas for the homeowner and some very simple ideas for how they can protect their home and their property,” said Sgt. Steve French.

You can set up an appointment by calling the Crime Prevention Team at (541) 682-4296 or going to the website.
