Lane County to Host Immunization Clinic

EUGENE, Ore. — Lane County wants to make it more convenient for parents get their children up to date on their vaccinations, so it’s hosting an immunization clinic for the next three days.

Lane County Health & Human Services will staff the clinic from Feb. 19-21.

This comes during the week of the state’s exclusion day, Feb. 20. At that time students who attend public and private schools, preschools, childcare facilities, and Head Start programs in Oregon who have not received all of their vaccinations or provided a religious exemption will not be able to attend until they do so.

The Eugene clinic is on the third floor, in room 310, at Lane County Health & Human Services Charnelton Building at 151 W. 7th Ave. from 8 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 4 p.m. Families in Springfield can call Lane County Public Health at (541) 682-4041 to schedule an appointment at the Riverstone Clinic at 2073 Olympic St., in Springfield. Children can also receive vaccinations from their primary care provider.

The county says cost should not be a barrier to required immunizations, which they say are covered by the Vaccine for Children program.
