EUGENE, Ore. — Macy’s announced their shopping plan, which caters to the last-minute holiday shoppers this year. The department store chain announced it will be open for non-stop shopping the last weekend before Christmas.
Stores will open at 7 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 21 and will stay open until 7 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 23. The special sales for the marathon will end that morning, but Macy’s says many stores will remain open until midnight.
The company has tried out extended shopping hours in past years, but this is the first time all 800 Macy’s stores will participate. Macy’s hopes to attract a bigger chunk of America’s holiday spending ,which the National Retail Federation predicts to be near $586 billion this year.
