EUGENE, Ore. — The Oregon Primary Election is May 20, and candidates are touring the state greeting voters.
Dr. Monica Wehby, a Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate, stopped in Eugene Thursday to meet and talk with residents at McMenamin’s. You may have seen her commercials talking about how she plans to push for an appeal of the Affordable Care Act. Obviously being a doctor, this is an issue that hits very close to home for her.
“We did need health care reform, but the way to do that is in an incremental fashion where you look at each individual component and fix areas where there are problems with proven methods that you know are going work,” Wheby said.
Wehby is running against Mark Callahan, Jason Conger, Timothy Crawley and Jo Rae Perkins.
For Democrats, the incumbent senator is Jeff Merkley. His opponents are William Bryk and Pavel Goberman.
