That’s about 80 turkeys, stored in freezers, all for the annual free Whiteaker Community Dinner. The feast will feed 2,200 people and it’s all prepared by LCC culinary students.
“It’s kind of like the community in community college where the students really do things that help other in their community. So they get excited, I get excited about putting that partnership together,” said Beverly Farfan, Whiteaker Community Dinner organizer.
The dinner is held on Thanksgiving from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Whiteaker Head Start Center.
