EUGENE, Ore. — If Black Friday shopping isn’t your thing, creating things might be. The Materials Exchange Center for Community Arts will be hosting a Creation Day on Friday. The event is part of Lane County’s Waste Free Holiday campaign.
“By reusing the materials that we have here we help give them new life and give someone else the opportunity to use them in a new way,” said executive director Mija Andrade.
People can make holiday gifts out of recyclable items. This year, in light of the new plastic bag ban, Mecca says attendees can make their own reuseable bag from upholstery samples, old clothes and denim.
Creation Day runs from 12 noon to 5 p.m.
