METEOROLOGIST MARISA WOLOSZYN’S FORECAST DISCUSSION:
Light showers will continue tonight. With the freezing level around 800 feet, a rain/snow mix is expected on the valley floor. Communities above 800 feet can expect a dusting of new snow. Temperatures will fall below freezing tonight and with the water on the roadways and sidewalks, patchy ice will be a problem during the Friday morning commute.
We’ll be in between systems Friday; expect mostly cloudy skies with a slight chance for a shower, highs in the low 40s.
The next system will approach Saturday, but placement is still up in the air. As for now it looks to skirt by just along the coast. Because of this, I have kept showers scattered along the coast and isolated for the rest of the area.
A strong, high pressure ridge builds in Sunday and remains over the Pacific Northwest through the middle part of next week. The weather will be dry with highs in the mid 40s and lows in low 30s.
Have a Fantastic Friday!
