Line Grows for Free Symphony Tickets

EUGENE, Ore. — Nearly 200 people lined up at the Hult Center’s closed doors this morning for some special tickets.

The Eugene Symphony released tickets on Tuesday to its fifth annual free concert in the park. Thousands are made available and are quickly taken up by eager fans.

Organizers say they’re never surprised by the turnout for tickets. It’s a huge event that keeps folks coming back again and again.

“It was most enjoyable. The weather was wonderful. The music was fantastic. It was a not to be missed event and I wanted to make sure we wouldn’t,” said Springfield resident, Tony Buxton.

“That’s a testament to the incredible relationship between the orchestra and the community that supports it,” said Scott Freck, executive director of the Eugene Symphony.

Attendees are asked to donate canned food to Food for Lane County. The concert will be held on July 20 at the Cuthbert Amphitheater.
