LINN COUNTY, Ore. — In the middle of a national gun debate, the Linn County Sheriff has made a defiant statement.
Sheriff Tim Mueller wrote a letter addressed to Vice President Joe Biden, saying he will not enforce any laws in Linn County that he deems are an infringement of the Constitution concerning gun laws.
In the letter, Sheriff Mueller said he’s sworn an oath to support the Constitution.
In the wake of recent shooting tragedies, he says politicians are attempting to exploit the deaths of innocent victims by advocating for laws that would prevent honest, law abiding Americans from possessing certain firearms and ammunition magazines, and we shouldn’t enact laws that will infringe upon liberties of responsible citizens who have broken no laws.
He says he will not allow any new unconstitutional laws or executive order of the president to be enforced in Linn County.
We have yet to hear back from the sheriff Monday afternoon. His staff says they’ve talked with dozens of people about the letter and have had only one negative response.

I’m thinking that oboma will try to sue Tim Mueller for disobeying his commands like he did with Arizona.

I am not with in your jurisdiction I reside with in Coos County Oregon but do support your decision hole hartedly. I would hope that Coos County would also take the same stand.
We as the people of the united States of America do need to stand up to what is right and what is being proposed in a blatant Violation of the 2nd amedment.
You may use this any were you wish as long as it will support the effort and I am notified of were and when it is used.

Kudos to Sheriff Tim Mueller! This is the reason we have elected him twice. He does a great job and has a pulse on the people he works for to keep safe and have entrusted him to do the job. I’ts nice to see a man with such strong convictions who is not afraid to stand up for what he believes in and voices his opinion soundly. Proud to be a Oregonian and proud to have Tim Mueller as our Sheriff.

Excellent letter. It is great to see people in law enforcement take a stand against the actions of politicians. The only problem I have is change misguided to stupid.

Everyone needs to make a copy of this letter and take it straight to their county Sheriff yesterday! OR email it, or mail it, what ever! But DO NOT pass up this opportunity to make sure your Sheriff has this kind of resolve!We must make sure all Law enforcement are on the same exact page as this brave constitutionalists, Sheriff Mueller is!

I was absolutely thrilled to hear of Sheriff Mueller’s notification to the White House. I was beginning to think that there were no true Americans left in our country! Turns out there are plenty; its just most of the news organizations and those with some other speaking platforms who are leaning toward being Un-American. Our Constitution is in place to PROTECT us from a Dictator- the very thing that Obama told a dictator of another nation very recently that he (Obama) wishes he could rule as! And I did not hear ONE news organization say a WORD against that hideous idea! Americans do not want nor need a dictator. We want our Constitution upheld and protected. We want our Bill or Rights protected. These things are the ONLY things that keep us a free people. There is nothing but grief and danger to those who are ruled by a dictator. I believe that Sheriff Tim Mueller understands our rights, and understands that he, in order to be an honest man, and good American, has to uphold his oath to protect the Constitution, and in doing so, protect us as a people. Thank you, Sheriff Mueller! You are indeed an American HERO to me!

You go Sheriff Mueller! I am not in your state, but I live in AZ where Sheriff Arpaio is being persecuted for his stance on the protecting and defending our state.
I hope AZ will also take this stance as you!

Where did Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller get his special Constitutional qualifications. Why did I think the Supreme Court needs to be consulted before Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller enforces the “law”????

The Supreme Court has ruled several times, that it is illegal for a sheriff officer to enforce rules that go against their constitutional oath, Sheriff Mueller here took an oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States and that is what he is doing, he is upholding his oath. This man is a Hero to the Constitution!!!
