Local Cancer Resource Center Celebrates

EUGENE, Ore. — Volunteers from the American Cancer Society celebrated the one-year anniversary of the Cancer Resource Center Friday.

The center, located in the Willamette Cancer Institute, is open to anyone in the Eugene area battling cancer.

The center consists of a room full of resources and the Believe Boutique, both staffed by volunteers. Cancer patients can make appointments to come to the boutique to get wigs, scarves and hats all for free.

“We figure that we’ve served 451 patients, but that’s just the number of contacts that we’ve made. The ripple effect of what we offer to patients is enormous,” said Veronica Clift, Cancer Resource Center.
