WILDERVILLE, Ore. — A small company in rural Josephine County is making an international impact on the electric vehicle industry. Alltrax specializes in electric motor controllers used in vehicles like golf carts.
Though all of the products at Alltrax are made in America, some of their products are sent overseas. Founder Damon Crockett said Europe has a particular interest in smaller electric vehicles.
Crockett worked on electric race cars in the ’90s and decided to make his hobby a career.
“The real successful vehicles were golf carts,” Crockett said. “So we said, ‘Hey, let’s be practical and see if we use what we learned on the racetrack and make a little better mousetrap for the golf cart.’”
The company currently employs more than 20 people and focuses on developing products for special order.
