A watch party will be held at Pegasus Pizza on East 14th Ave. at 5:30 p.m. for the debate scheduled to start at 6 p.m.
With the focus on domestic policy Wednesday night, the Democrats say they will be listening to how President Obama makes his case for improvement to the economy and jobs.
Members say it will be interesting to hear how Mitt Romney gets specific on policy because many claim he hasn’t been able to lay out a specific plan.
Here’s what some say President Obama needs to do to win this debate:
“I think he really needs to hit hard that the economy got the way it was in 2007 and 2008 because of a specific set of economic policies, and those are the same economic policies promoted by Herbert Hoover and those are the same economic policies promoted by Mitt Romney,” said Andrew Becker, Secretary of the Democratic Party of Lane County.
Becker says if the environmental issues, which seem to hold top priority for Oregonians are discussed, the local volunteers will use those statements as a campaign tool moving forward.
Local democratic candidates running for state office are also using this party as a way to meet with volunteers and constituents.
