Local Groups Give Gifts to Foster Youth

EUGENE, Ore. — The group Court Appointed Special Advocates and Lane County businesses are working together to bring gifts to foster children.

On Friday, the volunteers prepared the gifts for the foster kids and their families. Even Santa Claus was on hand to spread some Christmas cheer.

The kids range from newborn to 18 years old.

The gifts for the holiday extravaganza were provided by various local organizations, as well as private donors.

“Potentially some of them may not have gifts without this project, so it means a lot to the families that we serve,” said Sarah-Kate Sharkey, Associate Director of CASA.

The group’s goal is to fulfill the gift wishes of 281 children this holiday season.
