SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — If you’re looking for ways to help a Lane County deputy and his wife who are recovering from a hit-and-run, International Fitness at Gateway Mall is holding a fitness class fundraiser Saturday, Dec. 29.
The gym is asking for a suggested donation of $10 per class. All proceeds will go to the couple’s medical fund.
The fitness center says a personal connection encouraged them to help out the Wattiers.
“One of our cycle instructors here is the widow of the late police officer Chris Kilcullen and because of just our love for her, our program and our membership kind of has a soft spot for local law enforcement,” said Ellen Dewerd, Group Fitness Corrdinator.
Everything from cycling to Zumba will be available, and all fitness levels are welcome to participate.
Classes start at 8 a.m. with two classes offered each hour until 1 p.m.
