COBURG, Ore. — A Coburg man was back in the gym training clients Tuesday after returning from the Reebok CrossFit Games in Los Angeles. Ben Stoneberg represented the United States in the worldwide competition last week.
Stoneberg participated in various challenges, from swimming and running for miles, to lifting and hauling hundreds of pounds.
When it was all said and done, Stoneberg placed 16th. He says the local support has been encouraging.
“I’ve been working real hard and it’s kind of nice that people recognize me. It’s on espn3 live feed so people can watch online so to point me out is pretty cool,” said Stoneberg.
Stoneberg says he’s happy with 16th place, but he’s not settling for 15 people better than him. He plans to compete again next year and placing higher.
