EUGENE, Ore. — More than 50 runners from the Eugene area ran in Monday’s Boston Marathon.
The owner of the Eugene Running Company, Bob Coll says he first ran it in 1987; after last year’s bombing, he knew he had to run it this year.
Coll described the race as emotional and electric, thanks to the support from spectators.
“It’s somewhat of a pilgrimage for me and I’m just so happy that I came and ran it again this year. The support of the fans, there’s one million spectators that live on the course. It was just outrageous,” Coll said.
Coll says he felt safe running the race because there was heightened security all over the course.
