Local School Kids Ready For Firebusters


Eugene, Ore. — Thousands of kids across Lane County will soon learn more about fire safety.

The Lane Fire Prevention Cooperative, KEZI 9 News and other local sponsors are teaming up for Firebusters.

The five-part series is designed for school children in grades Kindergarten through five.

Each class will receive worksheets which will go home with students to watch the segments with their families.

Parents are encouraged to watch with their children and discuss the life safety skills.

The first 100 students who bring their completed worksheet to Cabela’s in Gateway Mall on Saturday May 31st at 9 a.m. will receive prizes.

The completed worksheets can also be turned in at Splash! at Lively Park in Springfield between May 24th and September 14th, for up to four half-priced passes.

Be sure to watch KEZI 9 News This Morning at 6:30 a.m. and KEZI 9 News at 6:30 p.m. between Monday May 19th and Friday May 23rd for each day’s¬†Firebusters segment.
