EUGENE, Ore. — Small businesses everywhere were hoping to take part in Small Business Saturday.
On the Saturday after Thanksgiving, shoppers are encouraged to check out the little shops in their own towns. Owners of the Oregon Constant Gardener on West 11th heard about the event just recently. They said they have high hopes for the business they could get and the impact Small Saturday could have on the local economy.
“It’s pretty important to have the opportunity to bring more business to all the small businesses locally. Not only to improve the overall economy, but also the trickle down effects,” said co-owner Ryan Stanley.
Business owners said the day has been a bit slow likely due to the big Civil War game, but they hope to take better advantage of the day in the upcoming years.
