EUGENE, Ore. — A Eugene soldier, whose deployment prompted his girlfriend to make a social media countdown, has returned from Afghanistan.
She posted a picture (right) Tuesday saying “Today you are on American soil right here in the U.S.A. and I can finally exhale.”
When the soldier deployed to Afghanistan in June, his girlfriend posted an inspirational picture every day.
The project got the attention of soldiers overseas and strangers with loved ones fighting for our country.
