EUGENE, Ore. — The city of Eugene added another artistic collection to the stairwells of the Overpark parking garage downtown.
This time, in the south stairwell, the city installed short stories by local writers.
Each floor has an excerpt or original piece of the so-called Flash Fiction hung by the door with the intention of entertaining drivers as they look for a spot.
Even mayor piercy came to thank the writers.
“You are giving all of us the opportunity to find something new in an unexpected place and to share in a collective moment of imagination, even when we might least expect it,” Piercy said.
There are 11 plaques written by artists as young as middle school, all lining the south stairwell of the garage
