EUGENE, Ore. — Two high school students from Eugene are heading to the Big Apple this week to perform at one of the most well known stages in the world.
Austin Potter and Tyler Furgason are both juniors at Sheldon High School. Since they found out they’ll be performing at Carnegie Hall, they’ve been spending lunch breaks and tons of time after school practicing for their performance. They say it’s taken a lot of practice and fundraising for the trip, and they’re excited to hit some high notes in New York.
“It’s a great honor to go to New York and sing at Carnegie Hall, so I’m thrilled,” Potter said.
“I’m a little nervous about the trip and everything. I’m really excited. I’m really looking forward to it,” Furgason said.
They’ll leave for their trip on Thursday morning and come back Sunday.
