MARCOLA, Ore. — A Springfield couple in their 70s, missing since Friday, were found alive near the Coburg Hills area.
More than two dozen searchers who were out looking for the couple Monday.
Leslie and Juanita McAdams left Friday to possibly go shooting when their car got stuck in the mud at a trailhead. They slept in the truck and then would walk a mile and a half to the nearest road hoping someone would find them.
On Monday morning, a Weyerhaeuser employees located Juanita on the road and that’s when searchers went in search of Leslie.
LCSO says the couple didn’t tell anybody where they were going.
“She was severely dehydrated, didn’t know where she was and couldn’t help us on telling us where her husband went or even when the last time she saw him,” said John Miller, Lane County Search and Rescue.
Both were taken to the hospital, and Lane County Search and Rescue says it sounds like the couple is going to be okay.
[UPDATE: 3:15 p.m] Leslie McAdams has been found safe.
LANE COUNTY, Ore. — A missing Springfield woman has been found, but Lane County Search are Rescue are still looking for her husband.
Leslie, 76, and Juanita McAdams, 77, were reported missing Friday night. They were last seen leaving their house in a white Dodge 2500 extended cab pickup.
A Weyerhaeuser employee found Juanita near Hill Road in the Mohawk area Monday, county officials said. Searchers also found the couple’s truck. Juanita was taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend.
Searchers are still looking for Leslie near Hill Road. He is described as a white male, 5′-11″ tall, 226 pounds w/ gray hair.
